Professor Landry of the University of Vermont invented Pharmefex™, Apollo BioSciences' core product, founded the company, and leads its research team as Chief Scientific Officer. His research involves the development and application of new types of porous silica, specifically in filtration, catalysis, and medicine. He has published numerous papers and presented talks around the world on these topics.
Professor Landry received his doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry in 1994 from Harvard University, where he worked with Professor Andrew Barron. He did his postdoctoral research with Professor Galen Stucky at the University of California at Santa Barbara and has been a faculty member at the University of Vermont since 1996. Professor Landry was a visiting professor at Harvard University in the spring of 2007.
Mr. Hickey co-founded Apollo BioSciences and is its Chief Business Officer. In addition to his position with Apollo, Mr. Hickey currently serves as the managing director of Renegade Capital, a Houston-based private equity firm.
Previously, Mr. Hickey co-founded and served as the acting CFO of the New York-based health plan Touchstone Health Partnership, a Lehman Brothers investment and Medicare medical management company. Mr. Hickey has also served as vice president of a boutique investment bank in Houston focused on serving emerging and middle market companies.
Mr. Hickey began his career as a management consultant at Computer Sciences Corp. within their healthcare group. He has a bachelor's degree from Harvard in the honors only concentration of history and science, and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Hickey also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Kaushik J. Dave Ph.D., R.Ph. joined Apollo Bioscience Inc. in the summer of 2006 as a Chief Development Officer. He has over 17 years of pharmaceutical experience at both big pharma and a small start-up, Palatin Technologies Inc.
As Vice President of Product Development and Quality Control at Palatin Technologies Inc., Dr. Dave obtained approval of NeutroSpec™ (a monoclonal antibodies-based product) and launched the product 6 weeks thereafter. He started his pharmaceutical career at Merck & Co. After obtaining his Ph.D., he moved to Schering-Plough, where he was involved with the approval of Nasonex, Asmanex Twisthaler (a dry powder inhaler), Clarinex, Intron A, and many other products.
Dr. Dave has spoken at many conferences, published a number of papers, and holds several patents on drug delivery. He also serves as a consultant for investment banks and venture capital firms, and acts as an advisor to several startup pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Dave obtained his pharmacy degree from the University of Bath, U.K, his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Kansas, and his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. James of the University of Vermont leads the research on the potential of Pharmefex™ to treat melanoma and breast cancer.
Dr. James serves as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Vermont. His research focuses on benign and malignant breast disease, melanoma, sarcoma, and cancer prevention. His work on breast and pancreatic cancer has been published in multiple scientific journals.
Dr. James received his doctorate in medicine from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and did his residency in surgery at North Shore University Hospital. He did his fellowship in surgical oncology at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Professor Mossman of the University of Vermont champions the research of Pharmefex™ to treat mesothelioma.
Professor Mossman serves as a Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Vermont and is the Director of the Environmental Pathology Program in the College of Medicine.
Professor Mossman is an expert on mesothelioma, an asbestos-related cancer of the lining of the lung or abdominal cavity. Among her many accomplishments, she has served on the National Cancer Institute's Board of Scientific Counselors and the Environmental Protection Agency's Scientific Advisory Board.
Professor Mossman has a Bachelor's degree in Zoology, a Master's degree in Physiology and Biophysics, and a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Vermont.
Mr. O'Donnell is managing director and founder of AM2 Capital and serves as an advisor to Apollo BioSciences on business, regulatory, and strategic issues.
Before forming the investment company AM2 Capital, he served as the CEO and president of the privately-held health plan Aveta, where he helped grow revenue to greater than $1.5 billion. Prior to Aveta, Mr. O'Donnell co-founded Touchstone Health Partnership, a Lehman Brothers investment and Medicare medical management company.
From 1997 to 1998, Mr. O'Donnell led business development for New West Physicians, a TA Associates practice management company, and from 1996 to 1997, he served as division president for Health Risk Management. He was CEO of regional managed care companies, including WIN-Health Partners, from 1995 to 1996 and The Health Care Initiative from 1990 to 1995.
Mr. O'Donnell has a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Dartmouth College and a master's in business administration from the University of Denver. He is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist.
